Work Offline (Magic xpa 4.x)

The Work Offline mode lets you work offline on a project that is set to work with Version Control. You do this by selecting Work Offline from the Version Control menu. This mode lets you change the project without having to check out objects. The mode then supplies a list of changes when you reconnect to the Version Control system.

Once any project has been opened for offline programming, the Studio will no longer check for Version Control project existence until the Studio process has been terminated.

Once the Studio needs to update an object, a backup of its XML source file will be created with the following name: <Original name>_bck.xml. The source file switch to writable mode.

The first time that you try to open a project in the Studio that has been set to work in Offline mode, Magic xpa will try to reconnect to the Version Control project. If Version Control is not available, the same Studio session will not try to reconnect again to Version Control.

When you reconnect to a project after working in Offline mode, if you choose to Get Latest Version of the Program repository or to Check Out and Get Latest Version, programs that you created in Offline mode are deleted.

This option is disabled when using the Checked out objects strategy.
