Viewing Multiple Projects (Magic xpi 4.1)

When the Magic xpi Monitor has successfully connected to the server, the projects that are contained in the projects folder are shown in the Magic xpi Monitor – Projects View screen. The status of each project, whether it is running or not, is taken from the Space. The messages generated by each running project are taken from Magic xpi's internal database.

From the Projects View you can see:

  • The number of flow messages that have been handled by the project.

  • The time elapsed since the project was executed.

  • The number of servers currently running the project. If you park on the Servers Running column, you will get a tooltip showing the list of servers currently handling this project.

  • The number of workers available for this project. Every time you load a server with workers, those workers are added to the pool.

  • The reserved licenses for this project.

  • The current number of licenses that are being used by this project.

You can use the buttons described below to perform certain operations on the projects listed in the new window.

Note:

You will be notified by a visual alert if there is a mismatch between the servers that are actually running in your project and the servers that are defined in the Space metadata.

Button

Description

Refresh

Click this button to refresh the information displayed in the window.

Start

Click this button to start the selected project. If the project is already running, the button is unavailable.

Stop

Click this button to stop a project that is already running. If the project is not running, this button is unavailable.

When you click the button, the Stop Parameters dialog box opens.

  • Timeout: Enter a number for the time to allow the server to stop the project. This lets you allow time for any active processes to finish before you stop the project. If no flows are running, the server stops immediately and does not wait for a specified Timeout.

Stop All

Click this button to stop all projects that are running in a multi-project environment.

Restart

Select a project and click this button to stop a project and then automatically restart it. The Restart Parameters dialog box opens, and you should enter the same information that is required for the Stop Parameters dialog box, as described in the explanation for the Stop button (above).

Open

When you select a project and click this button, the project opens in the main Magic xpi Monitor view. This way, you can view the details of the specific project.

You can return to the Projects View by clicking the icon.

Close

Click this button to close the Projects View and open the Magic xpi Monitor view, displaying the last-monitored project.

In addition, you can refresh, start, stop, stop all, and restart specific projects from the Monitor (the available options are determined by whether the project is currently running or not). To do this, right-click on the required project and select one of the following options from the context menu:

  • Refresh

  • Start Project

  • Stop Project

  • Stop All

  • Restart Project
