Using the UDS in a Flow (Magic xpi 4.5)

Before working with this section, it is recommended that you first look at the User Defined Storage topic.

When you have defined and saved your UDS models, they are ready to be used in your flow. Follow these steps to use your UDS models:

  1. Open the Flow Variables repository in one of the following ways:

    • By double-clicking Flow Variables, under the relevant flow in the Solution Explorer.

    • By selecting the Project menu and clicking Variables when the flow area is displayed.

    • By parking on the relevant flow and pressing Ctrl+L.

  1. Click Add. Then select the required UDS model name from the drop-down menu in the Type column. This list contains all the UDS models that you created in the UDS Repository. You should also enter a name for this variable in the Name column. You should choose a name that makes it easy to identify the variable, because this is the name that appears in the Variables List later on.

  2. At this stage, you can enter a description for the variable, and also define a default value in the appropriate columns. You can do this for each variable that you want to bring in from the UDS Repository.

  3. When you have finished, click Save to save your additions and changes, and to exit the dialog box.

You can now work with your new UDS variables.

Note:

These variables can only be used with the Flow Data utility and the Data Mapper utility.
