Using the Checker (Magic xpi 3.x)

The Checker checks your project on the following levels:

Level

Description

Project

At this level, the Checker will check the structure of your entire project. Here, the Checker reports problems for all business processes, flows, repositories, components, and Servers in a project and reports any errors.

Business Process

At this level, the Checker will check the structure of the selected business process. Here, the Checker reports problems for all flows, repositories, components, and Servers in the selected business process.

Flow

At this level, the Checker will check the structure of the selected flow. Here, the Checker reports problems for all components in the selected flow.

Step or Trigger

The Checker will check the selected component's configuration and any expressions that have been assigned to it.

Form Validation

At this level, the Checker will check for missing fields in the forms, services and repositories.

Note:

You can access the Checker in two main ways:

  • Go to the Tools menu and select the Checker option.

  • Right-click the relevant business process, flow, or step, and select the Checker option from the context menu.

Automatic Checker Operation

The Checker runs automatically before you begin the project deployment process, and also before you run the Debugger. If errors are found, you will be asked if you want to continue to create the deployment package.

At the end of the checking process, all problematic flows will be displayed.

Manual Checker Operation

You can start the Checker manually from the Magic xpi Studio’s Tools menu. You can run the Checker either on a specific object or on the whole project. The Checker menu has three options:

Description

Run

Click to check the current flow or business process. The Checker checks the object (business process or flow) currently selected. You can also right-click a business process or flow in the Navigation pane and select Check from the shortcut menu.

The Checker displays a Progress Message and then the Checker Results Screen. The results for the current business process or flow are displayed.

Run on project

Click to check the entire project. This displays the results for every business process and flow in the project.

Results

Click open the Checker Results window. This displays the results from the last check that was run.

Note:

Your project is automatically saved prior to the running of the Checker.
