Using ODS in Flows (Magic xpi 3.x)

The Operational Data Storage (ODS) system provides a way to save data that can be shared by multiple flow components or flows. ODS is a type of database that serves as quick-access data storage. Magic xpi lets you enter data into the ODS system to use with various flows. It is easy to manage ODS data in Magic xpi.

The Magic xpi ODS system manages a data table that maintains an entry for each item saved in the ODS. Each item saved in the ODS is identified by its flow sequence ID and UserKey. You can add user keys to a project by creating a new entry in the ODS Repository.

You can manage ODS data automatically while executing an integration flow. This is done in two ways:

  • Use the Data Mapper service to map data into an ODS entry. When you use the data mapper, you must first create an ODS entry in the ODS Repository.

  • Use the Flow Data service to insert, update, or clear data in ODS entries or to delete ODS entries including all data included in the entry. This lets you manage ODS data automatically as part of a flow.
