User Name - Database Properties (Magic xpa 3.x)
Certain databases require a User Name and Password. This is true both for databases accessed by a Magic xpa Server or by the DBMS's own Database Server. When you use the Magic xpa Client/Server Model for accessing remote host machines (usually mini-computers or workstations with a strict security system built into their operating system) a User Name and Password are mandatory. If you leave the User Name property blank in the Database Properties dialog box, Magic xpa will open a dialog box requiring a User Name and User Password on the first attempt to attach to a file accessed using this Database entry.
Use this property to specify a User Name recognized by the host security system, where the file accessed by this database entry, resides. A Secret Name can be used for this setting, because the User Name property is kept in the unprotected Magic.ini file.
The User Name should not contain a comma (,).
This property is optional.
Note:

Windows authentication:
SQLServer: The user name and password should remain blank.
Oracle: The user name should be a forward slash (/) and the password should remain blank.

Relevant interfaces: This property is not relevant for SQLite or Local databases.
