Template Properties (Magic xpi 3.x)
You can map data to a template. Data is mapped to the template Destination and a new file is created. Before you can map to a file, you must create a template. This template file uses special tags that provide information to the Data Mapper when mapping the data. In this dialog box, you must indicate the template file and where the new file is sent.
The Template Destination Properties dialog box has the following properties:
Name
Enter a name for the schema.
Description
Enter a description for the schema.
Template File
Select a template file. This must be a template file created with specific tags, including MGIF_xxx tags. See Mapping Data to Templates for an explanation on how to create a template file. Once you have set the file, and have mapped a Source to a Destination, you cannot change it. If you try to change it, an information message tells you that it is not possible.
Note:
-
Special characters (such as *, ., ?, < and >) are not legal characters for template file tags, since the results are unpredictable.
-
A specific tag should not appear in more than one section in a template.
-
A tag in a template should not exceed 30 characters.

Data Destination
Select where the mapped data will be created:
-
File: If you select file, a field is available to add the name and location of the XML file with the Source data or the Destination of the file you are creating. Click to open the Expression Editor. Use the Expression Editor to create an expression or condition that will locate the file. This allows you to define a dynamic location for the file. If you want to work with a static location, enter the full path to the file in the field or create a (flow, context, or global) variable that holds the full path to the file and select the variable from the Expression Editor.
-
Flow variable: Select a flow variable to hold the XML file that contains the created data. Only BLOB type variables are available.

Unicode Support
Select the check box to process text files that include data encoded in Unicode.
Append Data
Select the check box to append the new mapping to work with existing files.
