System Logon (Magic xpa 3.x)
This setting determines the level of the Magic xpa environment integration with the operation system. The available options for this setting are:

None – Magic xpa does not prompt the user for a logon name and password.

User Name – Magic xpa authenticates (user ID and password) and authorizes (assigns rights) solely based on the security file (usr_std.eng). Magic xpa locates the user ID in the security file, and assigns rights that were set for the user or for groups that the user is a member of.

Active Directory – Magic xpa authenticates and authorizes automatically during startup. Magic xpa authenticates using the user ID and password that were used to authenticate the user to Microsoft Windows, and authorizes by locating the groups that the user is a member of in the Active Directory and assigning rights set for these groups in the security file (similar to LDAP). LDAP – Magic xpa uses LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) to authenticate the user's identity by using an LDAP server. Magic xpa automatically locates the groups, which the user is a member of, in the LDAP server database. These same groups should be defined in the Security file (usr_std.eng), so that Magic xpa can apply the rights of these groups to the user. For more information, see LDAP Authentication.
In Rich Internet applications (RIA), the LDAP option is not supported for the built-in logon. However, you can use your own logon screen that uses the LDAP functions in order to use LDAP authentication.

The Magic xpa Single User Edition does not support Active Directory and LDAP.

Note the following System Logon behavior:
The System Logon value applies to the Runtime engine only when it’s opened for the first time from the Studio.
The user password in the Magic xpa user file does not have to correspond to the operating system password. The password can be up to 20 characters.
It is best to keep a unique Magic xpa password for each user to prevent users from logging on as different users.
