Setup Wizard Steps (Magic xpi 4.1)

On each application server, run the setup program (setup.exe) from the installation media. Here, the Windows setup screens are used, although similar options are available in other platforms.

  1. Follow the setup dialog boxes.

  2. When prompted to install the database, choose the following options:

    1. On the first application server that you install, select Now.

    2. For each subsequent setup, on the other application servers, select Later.

    3. On the first application server, enter your database server and the Magic xpi administrator DB user (with credentials to create users, databases, and tables).

  3. On only one of the hosts in the cluster, select the Install the Magic Monitor Services check box. This will install the Magic Monitor services on the host machine.

  4. On all application server setups, clear the Install Web Service Framework check box. You will install this separately on the front-end Web server.

  5. In the Magic Service Configuration screen, choose the following options:

  1. Select the Install the Grid Service Agent as a service check box.

  2. Clear the Development Machine check box.

  3. In the Use the following locators (Unicast) field, enter the addresses (comma separated) of the two application servers that you designated as LUS servers.

  4. In the Number of GSCs field, enter 2. In the GSC memory allocation field, enter 512.

  5. When running the setup on one of the two application servers that you designated as LUS servers, select the Run the LUS check box.

  6. In the Number of partitions field, enter 2. Then select the Partition backup check box.

  1. For all of your machines, select the Start the Magic xpi Services check box on the last screen. This will start the Magic Monitor Display Server, the Magic Monitor Web Server, and the Magic xpi 4.x GSA.
