Setting the Magic xpa Configuration File (MAGIC400.INI) (Magic xpa 3.x)

To set up the MAGIC400.INI configuration file:

  1. MAGIC400.INI can be edited from IBM i command line or from any other text editor.

  2. Do not copy any special characters. This may cause abnormal behavior in the product.

  3. You can copy the database definition in the MAGIC_DATABASES section from the MAGIC.INI file on Windows to the MAGIC400.INI file on IBM i.

  4. It is highly recommended to backup the MAGIC.INI file before editing.

To edit the MAGIC400.INI file using the Magic xpa CFGMGCSVR configuration menu:

  1. Place the cursor on the Magic Config. option, and press ENTER to open the pulldown menu.

  2. Select Option 1, MAGIC400.INI.

  3. Select Option 2. The IBM i source file editor is executed, and the current MAGIC400.INI file is loaded.

  4. Edit the MAGIC400.INI file as required, save your work, and exit.
