Description

Setting Up Communication to a Database Via ODBC on 64-bit Systems (Magic xpa 4.x)

Magic xpa is 32-bit application compatible.

While working with Magic xpa on a 64-bit operating system, communicating with ODBC must be configured to match 32-bit ODBC drivers.

The ODBC DSN declaration for database drivers is set to a default compatibility of 64-bit.

To change this default compatibility, you will need to rearrange some ODBC settings:

  1. Set up ODBC DSN for 32-bit application compatibility by using: %WINDIR%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe.

  2. Declare your system/user DSN in this ODBC interface and use it in Magic xpa.
