Security File (Magic xpa 3.x)

The Security file is required. If it is not specified, or does not exist, Magic xpa will create a default empty file.

This setting is the location and file name of the file that holds all the secure system information including:

• User IDs, passwords and their rights

• User Groups and their rights

• Secret Names

The security file is encrypted using our own proprietary algorithm to prevent unauthorized users from breaking into the system. The password can contain up to 20 characters.

Note:

• The security file must reside on a shared directory when in a multi-user environment, because it contains information global for all users.

• When the System Logon setting is set to Active Directory, no manipulation of the Magic security file is allowed.

• If a runtime engine was started as a Background server, any change to this property value or external change to the file itself, will be effective only after restarting the runtime engine.
  To see the updated rights, you can load another engine and use the RqRtBlock function to block the current engine from serving new requests, so that new requests will be served in the new engine.
