Secret Names Settings (Magic xpa 4.x)
Secret names are intended for use where there is a need to hide sensitive information from unauthorized users. For example, secret names could be used for project file access keys, User password fields, Servers/DB properties and Data file access keys.
The Secret Name repository is identical to the Logical Name repository, except:
-
The Secret Name repository can only be accessed and viewed by the supervisor. Secret names can be used even without authenticating as a supervisor.
-
A secret name can be used only in authorized fields, which are as follows:
User Name and Password server properties
User Name and Password database properties
User Name and Password LDAP properties
Access Key data source property
SOAP Client Modules Path environment setting
HTTPCall, HTTPGet and HTTPPost functions
-
In places where secret names are allowed, if the name entered in one of these places is not a secret name, Magic xpa will then search for the name in the Logical Name repository.
-
Secret names are stored in the security file that is specified as an environment setting. This security file is encrypted.
