Description

Programs (Magic xpa 3.x)

This section provides reference information about creating programs.

The process consists of the following steps:

Entering information in the Program repository, which includes the Main Program.
Defining the Task Properties.
Defining the data view parameters, task logic handlers and operations, and forms in the Task Editor, which is comprised of the Data View Editor, Logic Editor, and the Form Editor. You can also open the Data Source repository to view all of the data sources used in the program, including the Main Source and the data sources used by Link operations.
Defining the range for the data view in the Range Window.
Defining the sort for the data view in the Sort Window.
Defining I/O devices, which determine the INPUT and OUTPUT devices that can be used for reading or writing during the current task.

Note:

There is a difference between a task and a program. A task is the basic unit for constructing a program. A program can be constructed of a main task and subtasks.
