ODS Properties (Magic xpi 4.5)
You can use ODS data as a Source or a Destination. ODS entries are entered in the ODS Repository. If you want to use an ODS variable that is not in your project, go to the Solution Explorer and select ODS from the Repositories folder. This opens the ODS Repository. Here, you can add additional ODS variables to the repository.
If you use an ODS entry as a Source, you use the data stored in the ODS variable to map to a Destination. In the Properties pane, select the ODS variable with the data that you want to be available for mapping. If you use an ODS entry as a Destination, you update the value of the ODS variable when you map Source data to it. In this case, you select the ODS entry that you want to update.
The Properties pane contains the following properties:
|
|
Name
|
Enter a name for the schema.
|
Description

Enter a description for the schema.
|
ODS

Click to open the ODS List, and select the required ODS variable.
|
Note:
|
-
ODS objects appear as children of a single parent node, which is called ODS. If an ODS array is mapped, the array is displayed in a compound element called Array. The array is a child of the ODS compound. It is a level higher than the simple elements.
-
When you map a compound element to an ODS array, the number of ODS entries created is the same as the number of simple instances that are in the Source compound.
-
When you map an ODS array to a Destination compound, the Destination output will have the same number as entries in the ODS array.
-
ODS variables are automatically given the letter O as a prefix.
