Q

What should I do if I get one of the following error messages when working with the Notes DB component?

  1. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

  2. Could not initialize adaptor. See logger for more info

  3. Due to unexpected event step can not be instantiated. See the log file for more information.

  4. Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

  5. Step configuration error. See the log file for more information.

A

One of the reasons that these errors are displayed could be when the Notes DB connector Jar files (Notes.jar and NCSO.jar) are missing from the java\lib folder.

Q

Why is the Originator name not getting added to the document while performing the Add Document operation?

A

One of the reasons for this to occur could be when the Notes DB is configured locally without a password. To solve this, either define a password for the local setup or use the remote setup.

Q

Why does the FullTextSearch query in the Notes DB component not work in some scenario?

A

One of the reasons for this to occur could be that the field name you query is a group field name which contains child fields in it. For example, group name Address_20 can contain child fields such as Street, City, and State.

To solve this, instead of entering a group field name, enter the name of a particular field as mentioned in its relevant XSD document.
