Notes DB - Prerequisites (Magic xpi 4.5)

To be able to use the Notes DB connector with local access (when remote access is set to No), you should make sure that you have Lotus Notes Client VR5, or above, installed on your machine. You should also know this information:

  • The Lotus Notes server name

  • The Lotus Notes database name and password

Before you use the Notes DB connector, you need to do the following:

  • Enter the full path of the Notes.jar file (for example, D:\lotus\notes\Notes.jar) in the Windows Environment Variables CLASSPATH. This .jar file is located in the Lotus Notes clients installation folder.

  • Enter the full path to the Lotus Notes DLLs folder in the Windows Environment Variables PATH.

Before you use SSL to remotely access the Notes DB Server, perform the following:

  • Copy the NCSO.jar to the Magic xpi machine from the Lotus Notes server and add it to the classpath (in the magic.ini) or placed in Magic xpi's java/lib directory.

This jar is found on Notes DB server machine at: c:\lotus\notes\data\notes\java\NCSO.jar
