Mode - Program Generator (Magic xpa 3.x)

The generation mode. Two options are available: Execute or Generate (default).

The Execute option sequentially generates and runs temporary programs for the selected data sources. For example, if you request Browse in the Option property, the generator switches to Runtime mode and enables data entry and maintenance in the first data source file. As you press Exit (ESC) to exit the Runtime mode, the generator proceeds to the next data source, and so on. The same applies to export/import operations; the generator accesses the selected data sources one after the other, and displays the Start Execution dialog box before executing a program. After running the batch program, Magic xpa enables you to run it again by displaying the Execute Again? dialog box.

The Generate option generates programs for selected data sources, and appends the programs to the Program repository. It does not, however, run the programs.

For Rich Client programs, only the Generate option is available.
