Manually Installing and Starting the Magic Monitor Server Service (Magic xpi 4.9)

Installing the Magic Monitor Server Service

After the installation procedure has been completed, go to the <Magic xpi installation>\Runtime\OS_Service\scripts folder. This folder contains:

  • Installation scripts for the Magic xpi GSA (Install_GSA_service.bat) and Magic Monitor Server (Install_MagicMonitor_services.bat) services.

  • Uninstall scripts for the Magic xpi GSA (Uninstall_GSA_service.bat) and Magic Monitor Server (Uninstall_MagicMonitor_services.bat) services.

Next, you should:

  1. Open a command line (with administrator rights).

  2. Change the directory to the scripts folder.

  3. Run the Install_MagicMonitor_services.bat script. This installs the Magic Monitor Server service.

  4. Refresh the Windows Services window to verify that the Magic Monitor Server service is installed.

Before starting the Magic Monitor Server service, verify that the GigaSpaces-related settings (LOOKUPGROUPS and LOOKUPLOCATORS variables) are properly set in the runwebmonitor.bat file found under the <Magic xpi installation>\Runtime\RTView\magicmonitor folder. This can be done manually or by using the <Magic xpi installation>\Tools\MgxpiLookupUpdator\MgxpiLookupUpdator.exe file.

Starting the Magic Monitor Server Service

You can open the Windows Services window and start the Magic Monitor Server service from there.
