ItemField Connector (Magic xpi 3.x)
The ItemField connector is a generated component that enables data conversion from any format to any other using the ItemField application to transform the data between different formats. Some supported formats are PDF, MS Office, .txt, XML, and EDI.
The transformation takes place in Itemfield and must be published as an Itemfield Service accompanied with an .XSD file that describes the output XML file.
The ItemField connector is a generic adapter to Itemfield conversion services. The configuration program provides a wizard that lets you select the required Itemfield Source and Destination Schemas where available.
Magic xpi generates a new component with programs and memory tables to put, get, and search data within the Source and destinations BLOBs if the Source and Destination are specified as XML type and if the schemas are provided. The generated component can also perform the required transformation without generating the .XML manipulation programs if they are not required. This is true if the Source and Destination types are not XMLs or the user is not required to perform data manipulation to these XMLs, therefore the schemas do not to be indicated).
The Itemfield adapter is an internal component and cannot be changed by the user/developer. However, you can modify the component generated by the Magic xpi ItemField connector.
