Installation Prerequisites (Magic xpi 4.13)

Before installing, you need to verify the following prerequisites:

  • A local or directory user (i.e. Magic xpi admin user) is defined with appropriate permissions on each of the application servers. The Magic xpi admin user should have permissions to run as a service.

  • A database administrator user (i.e. Magic xpi administrator DB user) is defined with appropriate permissions on the database server. The Magic xpi administrator DB user should have permissions to create databases and tables.

  • A database server user (i.e. Magic xpi server DB user) is defined with appropriate permissions on the database server. The Magic xpi server DB user does not require permissions to create databases and tables, but only to access them.

  • All application servers have network access and read/write permissions for the Magic xpi admin user to access the shared projects folder.

  • All application servers have network access to the database, and can connect to the database using the Magic xpi DB user.

  • All application servers can communicate with each other through the discovery port and LRMI ports.

For the proper operation of the cluster, all clocks on all hosts must be synchronized.
