How Do I Create a Specific Number of Items in a Repeatable Compound? (Magic xpi 3.x)
You can easily replicate existing Data Mapper compound nodes in XML Sources and Destinations. You do this using Magic xpi’s dedicated replication functionality.
Replicating a number of items in a repeatable compound:
-
Open your Data Mapper and select the compound node that you want to replicate. Right-click on the node, and select Properties from the context menu. The Node Properties dialog box opens.
-
In the General tab, select the Replication check box.
-
Click OK.
-
You will notice that the selected compound node now carries a #1 suffix.
-
In the Data Mapper screen, right-click again on the compound node that you want to duplicate. Select Add Replication from the context menu. This adds a duplicate compound node, along with its entries underneath it.
The replicated compound node carries a #2 suffix. This new node is added directly underneath the node that you just duplicated. You can repeat the replication process, without limit, by right-clicking the original compound node, or also by right-clicking any of the replicated nodes. The new instances are numbered with sequential suffixes.
