Help Screens (Magic xpa 2.x)

You can access the Help Screen repository by selecting Help Screens from the Project menu, pressing Shift+F4, or clicking Helps in the Navigator pane.

You define end user helps in the Help Screen repository.

The Help Screen repository contains the following columns:

This read-only column contains an automatically generated sequential number used by Magic xpa as an identifier.

Name

A descriptive name for the Help.

Type

In the Type column you specify the form of end-user Help you want to use in your application.

Magic xpa supports the following five different Help types.

The default value for a Help Type is Internal. You can click the Type box and select another type. Note that the actual contents of Windows Help and URL Help are defined outside of Magic xpa.

Folder

Displays the name of the folder in which the Help entry is located. You can create a folder by highlighting the Help icon on the Navigation pane and clicking F4. Folders let you group Help entries. For more information, see Folders.

Public Name

Defines the public name of the Help by which it will be called by an external call (using a Command Line, Magic xpa or the Internet). The public name must be unique within the repository.
