HL7 (Magic xpi 4.6)
Note:
|
The HL7 component requires a special license.
|
The HL7 (Health Level 7) component converts between an HL7 textual (pipe delimited) message and an XML structured message, and vice versa. It also facilitates the sending of messages to an HL7 server.
HL7 is a common health care standard for sending messages between medical applications, such as patient files and blood tests. The most common standard is the 2.x, which is a textual standard not in XML format.
The Magic xpi HL7 component converts the 2.x HL7 document to XML format and creates HL7 messages from XML documents.
HL7 V3 is supported by the Data Mapper since the messages are XML based.
HL7 2.X is supported by the HL7 component.
The official XSD files of HL7.org are supplied for the Data Mapper mapping and are located in the Runtime\ifclib\HL7\xsd folder.
Known Issues:
|
-
XML messages are validated using the validation option in the Data Mapper. A message validation is also done by the HL7 parser in the HL7 component.
-
Validation of HL7 messages is done in the parser. Developers can also validate the HL7 messages using an external tool or service.
