Description

Document Outline (Magic xpa 4.x)

You can access the Document Outline by selecting Document Outline from the View menu, pressing Ctrl+Alt+T, or clicking the Document Outline icon in the toolbar.

The Document Outline provides you with a list of all of the elements (controls and columns) that you have added to the Display form. When you click on an element in the Document Outline it is also selected in the Form Designer and vice versa. However, if you select an additional control in the Form Editor (using CTRL+click), the additional control will not be selected in the Document Outline.

The top of the Document Outline provides you with a number of icons:

You can use the first icon to filter how much of the information about the elements to display (None, Short, or Full). You can also expand or collapse the hierarchy and use the arrows to move the element down or up in a container, out of the current container or into the next container.

Note:

  • Controls can be moved to a container in the Document Outline only if the container is above the control in the Document Outline.

  • The Move down in container and Move up in container options are enabled when the Z-order icon is pressed. The options can then be used within the same types of controls.

  • When the automatic Z-order icon is pressed, changing the order of controls in the Document Outline changes the Z-order property value of a control. This is also reflected in the Form Designer.

  • You can right-click on any of the elements and generate HTML or recursive HTML code, cut, copy, paste, delete, or rename the element or open the element's property sheet.
