Differences Tool Command Line (Magic xpa 4.x)
Some Version Control products, such as PVCS, let you view the history of differences between different versions of your objects. To view this history in PVCS, you need to set the external Differences tool that you want PVCS to use, in the Differences Tool Command Line setting. If you do not use this setting, by default the differences will be shown in a text file, rather than in the more user-friendly Differences screen.
In this setting, enter the location and name of the Differences tool’s executable file.
For example: C:\Program Files\Araxis\Araxis Merge v6.5\compare.exe
This means that the Version Control system will use the Araxis Merge program.
You also need to enter a string that matches the Differences tool’s command line context. In the string you should enter $file1 for the first file name, $file2 for the second file name and so on. You can also enter any other settings the program supports that you want to use.
For example: Parameters: $file1 $file2 /max
This means that the sent string will be the first and second file names and will use the Maximize option.
