Defining the Partitioning Environment (Magic xpa 3.x)
To set up partitioning, the Magic xpa server must be configured to use the same messaging server used by the calling programs.
You configure the Magic xpa Enterprise Server environment on the Server tab of the Environment dialog box.
The following environment settings in the MAGIC400.ini configuration file are required for partitioning.
Parameter
Magic.ini or Command Line Name
Description
Activate as Enterprise Server
ActivateRequests Server
Controls whether Magic xpa will try to connect to a request broker as an enterprise server. If set to Yes, Magic xpa registers itself with the broker and accepts requests for program execution.
Messaging Server
MessagingServer
Specify the name of the Request Broker to connect to when Magic xpa is used as an enterprise server. When specifying only a port number, the broker is assumed to reside on the same host as the Magic xpa engine.
Requester Timeout

RequesterTimeout
Defines the time interval in which the broker returns a signal to the requester. When the time between signals exceeds the maximum time set, an error message appears.
