Defining SQL DBMS Parameters in the DB2/400 Line (Magic xpa 3.x)

You need to define SQL gateway DBMS parameters if you plan to use the SQL gateway.

To define SQL Gateway DBMS parameters:

  1. In Magic xpa, select Options/Settings/DBMS to open the DBMS repository.

  2. From the DB2/400 line, go to the Parameters column and press F6 to expand the window.

  3. Specify the configuration as needed, using the syntax conventions described in the Database Information - DB2/400 SQL Gateway topic.

  4. Press Alt+Enter to open the DBMS Properties dialog box.

  5. In the Isolation level setting, set:

  • 0 - Uncommitted Read (It is best to use an Uncommitted Read.)

  • 1 - Committed Read

  • 2 - Repeatable Read

  • 3 - Serializable

  • 5 - Read None

  1. Click OK. These parameters will take effect the next time you start Magic xpa.
