Defining DBMS Parameters (Magic xpa 3.x)
The Magic xpa for IBM i Client provides two gateways, an ISAM gateway and an SQL gateway, that access the IBM i database. You can use the ISAM gateway by itself, or the SQL gateway by itself, or both gateways at the same time.
The ISAM gateway, Mgeac32.dll, accesses the IBM i database and supports OPNQRYF and the Ctrl+H option. This gateway generates physical and logical files in Digital Data Storage (DDS) format.
The SQL gateway, Mgdb400.dll, accesses the IBM i database and supports Direct SQL and the Ctrl+Q option. This gateway generates SQL tables and indexes in the SQL Collection.
The IBM i Client also lets you access any programs on an IBM i platform.
DMBS parameters are global options affecting all of the IBM i connections managed by Magic xpa for IBM i.
Note that there is no need to use the easycom.ini file. The default connection will always activate the TCP/IP connection.
