XML Databases

The following Deployment property appears in the Database Properties dialog box for XML data sources:

Temporary Data Source – Select a non-XML database for storing the flat-view that you select from this list.

  • Transaction support will depend on the DBMS that you select in this property.

  • The default flat-view database (during installation) is Memory.

  • Each time a project is opened, the flat-view’s DBMS is automatically applied to all XML sources in the Data repository that use it, regardless of the XML database that was used during the Get Definition.

  • When opening an XML source during runtime, the flat-view table is opened using the properties of the flat-view's data source, such as location, user name, and password for SQL. If the DBMS gateway was not loaded, the table will not open.
