Databases

This section describes the databases that Magic xpi works with.

Microsoft® Windows®

  • Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, and 19c (OCI 64-bit)

  • Microsoft® SQL Server 2008 (32-bit client only)

  • Microsoft® SQL Server 2012 (32-bit client only)

  • Microsoft® SQL Server 2014 (32-bit client only)

  • Microsoft® SQL Server 2016 (32-bit client only)

  • Microsoft® SQL Server 2017 (32-bit client only)

  • Microsoft® SQL Server 2019 (64-bit client only)

  • ODBC 3

  • DB2 UDB 9.7 (32-bit client only)

  • MySQL 5.x

  • Pervasive 8 (not supported as an internal database)

  • Pervasive 9 (not supported as an internal database)

  • Pervasive 10 (not supported as an internal database)

  • Pervasive 2000 (not supported as an internal database)

  • DB2/400 OS/400 V5R4, V6R1, V7R1, and V7R3

  • Magic xpi supports Microsoft® SQL Server Gateway enabled for TLS 1.2 OLE DB, for which OLE DB driver should be pre-installed.

  • Select the Standard or Enterprise edition based on the database version installed on your system. The DBA will be able to determine which product type is currently being used. In case you are unsure, choose the Standard edition.

  • Magic xpi uses the 32-bit Database Client for Studio and Installer whereas 64-bit Database Client when running the projects at runtime.

  • For DB2, the SAMPLE database has to be created on the DB2 server to perform server validations on the installer screen.

  • For DB2400, IBM i Access ODBC Driver or iSeries Access ODBC Driver is needed to perform DB2400 server validations on the installer screen.
