Description

Data Source Deletion (Magic xpa 2.x)

When you attempt to delete a data source (tables and XML sources), it is not automatically removed from the DBMS. Instead, a Confirmation message box appears. The message box differs according to the Change Tables in Studio property:

  1. If the Change Tables in Studio property is set to Yes and you attempt to delete a data source, a Confirmation message box will appear asking you if you also want to physically delete the external table.

    If you click:

    • No – The entry will be removed from the Data repository only.

    • Yes – The entry will be removed from the Data repository and will be physically deleted. If Magic xpa is unable to remove the data source from the DBMS an error message will appear and you will have to manually remove the data source.

    • Cancel – The delete action will stop and the data source will not be deleted from either the Data repository or the DBMS.

Exceptions

Memory tables and XML data source entries can be deleted only from the Data repository. Therefore, when you delete a Memory table or an XML data source entry, the confirmation dialog box will not appear.

  1. If the Change Tables in Studio property is set to No and you attempt to delete a data source, a Confirmation message box will appear asking you to confirm the data source deletion.

If you click:

    • OK – The data source will be removed from the Data repository.

    • Cancel – The data source will not be removed from the Data repository.
