Component Configuration (Magic xpi 3.x)

When you place a component in a flow, the Component Properties dialog box for that component opens. This lets you configure the component to suit the specific step in the flow. You can use the same component, but with different configurations, at different steps in the same flow.

To configure the component, click Configuration to open the configuration dialog box or wizard for that component. The type of configuration dialog box that is displayed depends on the interface that you choose in the Component Properties dialog box.

A Magic xpi flow component uses a specific interface to incorporate the component in the Magic xpi project. The Magic xpi component interface is a set of standards for component development. The flow component interface standard ensures that the flow components can communicate in Magic xpi in a standard way.

Magic xpi allows you to use the following standard interfaces:

When you develop your own components, you should use these standards to ensure that your component can work in the Magic xpi environment and can be executed by Magic xpi Servers at deployment.

Some components also have a Trigger interface and some are available only as a trigger component. The Trigger configuration is available when you drag the component into the Trigger Components area at the top of the Flow Editor. See Trigger Components for more information.
