Commercial Aspects - Migration for Informix (Magic xpa 2.x)

There are a few major vendors for Informix ODBC drivers. Here are two that were checked in combination with Magic xpa and proved to be satisfactory.

1. www.datadirect.com

This driver offers a “wire protocol driver”, which eliminates the need for the database client libraries to be installed. See picture:

OEM agreements are also an option and are typically three years in duration. They require the embedding (i.e. branded and locked for exclusive use with the named application) of the driver.

Commercially, the OEM agreement takes one of two forms:

1) Flat Count Agreement

2) Unlimited Agreement

Note: This product does not support Informix 7.x
