Business Process Variables (Magic xpi 3.x)
Business process variables are defined in the scope of a business process. The business process variable's definition is available to all the flows in the business process. Business process variables are defined once for all the flows in the business process. Changes made to a business process variable in any flow affect all other flows in the same business process.
Best Practices
|
|
Use business process variables in the same way as you would use global variables. However, remember that they work at the business process level only, and not across a whole project.
|
To create business process variables:
-
If you want to define business process variables for your project, select Variables from the Project menu. This opens the Project Variables dialog box. Select the BP Variable tab.
-
If you want to define business process variables for a specific flow, select Variables from the Flow menu or press Ctrl+L. This opens the Variables for Flow dialog box. Select the BP Variable tab.
-
Click New to activate the first empty line in the list.
-
Define the variable's properties. For a full description of these properties, click here.
-
When you have entered the relevant properties, click OK to add the variable and to close the dialog box.
-
You can remove variables by clicking Delete.
-
Clicking Cancel closes the dialog box without saving your newly added variables.
