Attach to (Magic xpi 4.6) Project

The Attach to Project dialog box contains the fields described below:

Field

Description

Space Name

This read-only value is taken from the SpaceName flag in the Magic.ini file's [MAGICXPI_GS] section the first time that the MgxpiStudio.EXE file is loaded.

Lookup Group

This read-only value is taken from the LookupGroupName flag in the Magic.ini file's [MAGICXPI_GS] section the first time that the MgxpiStudio.EXE file is loaded.

Lookup Locators

This read-only value is taken from the LookupLocators flag in the Magic.ini file's [MAGICXPI_GS] section the first time that the MgxpiStudio.EXE file is loaded.

Database Definition

By default, the Internal Database Details are set by the local internal database definition. You can select a different (remote) internal database using this combo box, which displays all database resources defined in the Settings dialog box's Resources section.

Note:

You cannot attach to a remote Server that has an internal database that is a different type than your local internal database.

  • By clicking the Resource button, you can access the Settings dialog box's Resources section and add an additional resource.

If the defined project is not running, the "Unable to attach to defined project" error message is displayed.

  • The Validate button allows you to test the connection to the selected remote database.

  • Clicking the Cancel button cancels the debug process and the changes made in the Attach to Project dialog box. After the changes are cancelled, the process uses the previous definitions.

Note:

  • When you use the Attach to Project option, you are attaching to the already running Magic xpi project using the Debug_Info.xml file and not re-deploying the project.

  • To save the changes that you make to this dialog box, you must select the Save Debug Information check box in the Debugger Settings dialog box.
