Activity Log (Magic xpi 3.x)

The log properties let the user determine what messages to display in the Activity Log View. You can also set the refresh rate and Server Log settings from this dialog box.

To display the Activity Log dialog box, from the Settings menu, select Activity Log.

In the dialog box, configure the messages to display in the Activity Log and how to use them according to the columns in the dialog box. Each column lets you determine the following for each message:

Name

Description

Display

Select the check box next to each message that you want to be sent to the log. By default the statistic information is selected. If you clear a check box, the message is not displayed in the Activity Log even if it is relevant.

Color

Select a color to display if the message exceeds the exception rate.

To enter a color, click in the Color column and select the number for the color you want from the Color List. By default, the number is 0, which indicates that no color is selected.

The Activity Log messages are divided into four tabs:

Name

Description

Overall

This tab lets you determine the messages that are displayed for items that relate to the overall functioning of the integration project. An example of a message in this tab is Event published.

Server

This tab lets you determine the messages that are displayed for items that relate to the Magic xpi servers in your integration project. An example of a message in this tab is Server started.

Flow

This tab lets you determine the messages that are displayed for items that relate to the flows in your integration project. An example of a message in this tab is Flow aborted.

Component

This tab lets you determine the messages that are displayed for items that relate to the flow components in your integration project. An example of a message in this tab is Flow component started.

You can save storage by controlling the size of the Activity Log in Advanced Properties. To set the Advanced Properties, from the Activity Log dialog box, click Advanced.

The Activity Log dialog box also includes the Server Settings button. Click Server Settings to open the Server Log Settings dialog box. Here, you can determine whether to suspend specific Server Log messages.

When you finish setting the Activity Log properties, click OK to save them and close the dialog box.

Note:

In most cases the properties configured in the Monitor are saved for the Monitor module and are not saved per project. However, the Activity Log properties are the user's work preferences and are saved in the Monitor environment when the user exits the system.
