Working with Join and Restricted Files (Magic xpa 3.x)

Restricted files are logical files that are more than just a key. You can import the file definition for a restricted file from IBM i into the Data repository as a separate file.

A Join file can only be used in a program. Therefore, the Access mode has to be updated to Read Only. You do this by opening the program’s Data View Editor, pressing Alt+Enter from the Main Source to open the property sheet, and changing the Access property from Write to Read.
