Identifying the Business Processes (Magic xpi 3.x)
A business process is a physical representation of business activities that represents the integration project from the organization's business perspective. The business process design helps you understand the needs of your integration project and how to relate these to the integration flows that should implement the business process activity.
Magic xpi provides business process modeling capabilities, which include business functions or activities, business rules, resources, and performance measurement.
More than one business process can be defined in a single project, dividing the project into logical units.

Tip:
|
When defining your business process you can start by drawing a layout of the necessary flows, including the name of the flow and even some general definitions of critical processes.
|
|
The general layout of your business process should include:
-
Process scope and definition
-
Main sub-processes and steps
-
Business roles
-
Processing mode – synchronous, asynchronous
-
Security and authentication needs
-
Error behavior
-
Key Success Indicators (KSI)
-
Processing instructions, such as the number of processes to be activated in parallel, and routing needs
Tip:
|
You can use the Magic xpi tool set to create a major part of the documentation within the tool. Use notes to include remarks on top of your process definitions. Attach requirements and design documents to the various nodes.
