To work with the Version control client of your choice connected to a VC server:

• Verify that the registry setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider\ProviderRegKey is pointing to your version control client.
  
  Note: This value should exist in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider\InstalledSCCProviders under the key for your version control.
